Introduction

NABARD has launched the German Development Cooperation (GDC) assisted Umbrella Programme on Natural Resource Management (UPNRM) to facilitate replication and upscaling of best practices and models of holistic, participatory and financially sustainable livelihood activities for improving the livelihoods of the rural poor based on the sustainable natural resource use and management.

UPNRM is set up as a unique facility that would influence stakeholders to utilise loans and other non-grant funds to carry out natural resources management (NRM) activities in rural areas.

Natural Resource Management and Community participation are the two pillars of UPNRM.
